i still believe it's coming.
i think if god is real, it has to come.
it only makes sense.
Paul from Cleveland -
But god is not real.
Now what?
i'm not far away from sending out a bunch of letters to all the jw's who i knew when i was one.
the letters are the accumulation of the last few months of research etc.
i've put a lot of effort into wording things just right so that that the jw's don't instantly throw it in the trash.
I favor activism.
Certainly it is FOR SURE that no one will benefit IF YOU DON"T DO IT.
If you do it, it *might* help someone. It will certainly give you something to put on your accomplishments list.
It is best that you do this with NO expectation that anyone will respond.
That way you won't be disappointed, but may be pleased if just one person responds.
Your letters do not need the approval of anyone else. They are YOUR letters.
Consider the $150 a gift to the Universe.
My best wishes to you.
i was thinking if i acted a little off but not too far off the elders would tell me i'm not welcome in the door to door work.
i wonder if this would work.
there is a watchtower or awake article somewhere saying that a mentally ill person may be excused from the meetings and field service if his illness affected others.
--- begin imaginary TV commercial ---
"...I strongly suggest you investigate the advantages offered by Tourette's syndrome.
How much would you enjoy blurting out "FUCKING BULLSHIT!" during thr prater to open the meeting?
Imagine "the freedom of the sons of God" you would enjoy by not having any control over your internal censor? Would you like to say "LIAR!" when the most reverend Circuit Servant verbally abuses the flock? Tourette's syndrome offers you all this and MORE...
Prepare yourself. Look up Tourette's syndrome and get to know what it does and how YOU can claim to have been "diagnosed" with it. Elders never ask for a medical reference, because they are guided by Jehovah's Magic Spirit. Invite the Reverend Elders to your home and pepper then with obscenities while they attempt to exorcise you. Drop your voice to a deep demonic growl and watch them run from your home!
Yes, Tourette's can offer you a BETTER TOMORROW! Ask your doctor to diagnose you with Tourette's."
--- end of imaginary TV commercial ---
i think it is comming in the future.
the evidence is piling up on the internet, assembly talks, letters to body of elders, and an increasing number of those being harmed by the cruel treatment and lies of the watchtower corporation that are clearly a form of malice.. http://www.thefreedictionary.com/malice.
1. a desire to harm others or to see others suffer; extreme ill will or spite.2.
Yes, that's what we need - more noise, less signal. Perfect.
my sister told me yesterday, guess the sunday sermon.
given at my church, superman.
the minister was making.
Superman was created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Joe Shuster, high school students living in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1933.
I have always wondered if Siegel (or Shuster) used the hebrew word El (Jor-El, Kal-El) intentionally. How much of an influence was Nietzsche?
Why so much Christian iconology?
I'd love to read Leolaia's thoughs on Superman.
if the title of the thread wasn't enough, spoiler alert.. spoiler alert.. .
okay...so...that said, i haven't seen the movie, which would be a paradox except that i read the novelization.
so...how'd you feel about the way it ended?
OK...
SPOILER ALERT!
...he's from Krypton ( the planet not the inert gas)
and
... he's Super.
But seriously... I enjoy any retelling of the Ubermensch tale, but others I saw the film with felt id didn't do much in terms of character development, and it took itself a >bit< too seriously. Compare it to Chris Reeve's first movie, which had a good sense of humor. I already knew the story of Jesus Superman, so I didn't miss a complete re-tellin of the tale. I consider it a fair addition to the modern legends.
I DID feel the abundant religious references a bit too much, but easy enough to disregard.

Q.: Are We Approaching A Class Action Suit For Damages By Those Who Have Left The Watchtower Corporation Over Hate Speach, Enforced Disfellowshipping And Defamation Of Character ?
A.: Sure, sure we are. [Patronizing pat on the head.] It's as close as the inside of your eyelid! Even as we speak, a consortium of dozens of XJW millionaires and billionaires are meeting in Manhattan Beach CA, to work out the details. When this thing breaks - probably around October of this year, everyone - EVERYONE, even the Pope - will be stunned into temporary unconsciousness and "lose" 13 minutes from that day. Yes, this is THAT BIG.
Mark your calendars; it is a matter of only weeks and months, not years.
Be sure to wear head protection.
does anyone have any information on what occurred after the society dropped its suit in the bonham kingdom hall dispute?
the last i heard was the society built another kingdom hall.
what ever happened to those in the congregation that sued the society?
Hiya, CEDARS! There was considerable discussion of this on one of Rick Fearon's SIX SCREENS OF THE WATCHTOWER conference calls a few years ago. Answered almost ever question I could think of. It was great! Too bad you weren't there.
i'm just stopping in to say "hi!
" to everyone (and is this the right forum?
i didn't see a newcomers intro forum, but maybe i missed it).
Battlestar Galactica lives!
